About two months ago I started to work on Moovino, a platform to help Londoners find their dream home with ease. Moovino is a simple alert system, allowing you to be notified only for relevant listings and almost in real time. If you’re interested about the project, you can find more information here.

In this article I’ll explain how I created a dashboard to monitor everything happening on Moovino.

About Grafana

Preparation & Server Setup

• setup the server for grafane (cheap ec2 work perfectly fine)
• security groups changees
• postgre changes
• readonly account

Grafana Setup

• Access the UI
• Create account
• Connect data sources (issue ip table)

Conclusion

• very easy to use
• extendible, can be accessed from anywhere safely
• Easy to use for non-technical person with light knowledge of sql
• doesn’t require any specific work to monitor things: use data you already have
